Program Complete Walloon Parliament Meeting
The program for the Peakoil Conference at the Walloon Parliament is completed. The meeting is organized by the Peak Oil and Gas Committee of the Walloon Parliament , in collaboration with ASPO Belgium and Peakoil Nederland, in Namur, on Tuesday April 26 2011.
At this meeting two topics will be discussed by six experts that can greatly assist policy makers. The first is about regional infrastructure planning for peakoil, and the second about financial planning in an era of high oil prices and volatile financial markets.
The organizers have the honour to announce the present of Jean-Marie Chevalier who is professor of economics at the University of Paris-Dauphine, and Director of the Centre de Geopolitique de l'Energie et des Matieres Premieres. Professor Chevalier will contribute to the session on regional investment planning in an era of high oil prices. Prof. Dr. Jean-Marie Chevalier is professor of economics at the University of Paris-Dauphine, Director of the Centre de Geopolitique de l'Energie et des Matieres Premieres. He is also Senior Associate at Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA, Paris office), member of the Board of Directors of Nexans, member of the Conseil d'Analyse Economique (CAE). He has worked, as an economist, for Elf Aquitaine (now Total) and the energy department of the World Bank. He taught energy economics and industrial organization at the universities of Algiers, Rabat, Grenoble, Paris XIII, at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and the Ecole Nationale d'Administration. For several years he was a member of the board of directors of the Banque Nationale de Paris. He has published numerous books and articles on energy economics and industrial organization. Jean-Marie Chevalier graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and holds a PhD in economics from the University Pantheon-Sorbonne. He is professeur agrege des Facultes de Sciences Economiques.
